Alias: Anthony "Tony" Stark

Orientation: Bisexual
Out of the Closet Issue: Tony Stark: Iron Man #4 (2018)
Tony Stark, a rich, white, playboy, genius, and presumably straight man. Not actually straight. In a recent issue of the new Iron Man run, it was revealed that Tony Stark does actually go for guys, as it was written as an option in his dating profile (which is a whole other story to talk about and isn’t important here). After Tony saved the day, he apologized to all the wonderful ladies and gentlemen for the problem and announced himself as being off the market.
Having Marvel release Tony Stark as bisexual is such a profound thing, as mentioning his identities before, it completely ruins what someone who might be queer should look like and act like. Not to mention, Tony Stark is such a huge hero and face for Marvel, especially with the work that Robert Downey Jr. has done to the character.
This mindset would be in Tony’s head for most of his adult life, and after being sent off to boarding school, and then being isolated from his peers at MIT because of his young age of 15, it would add to it even further. After the death of his parents when Tony was 21, he became CEO of Stark Industries, and followed in his father’s footsteps of alcoholism.
In order to establish relations in Afghanistan, and display his new weapons technology, Tony was kidnapped from the convoy and taken. There, physicist Ho Yinsen would save Tony’s life, if and only if, Tony made a weapon ordered by the terrorist leader who had kidnapped him, Wong Chu. As acting assistant, Yinsen helped Tony create his first suit of armor that would make him Iron Man and escaped from the camp in armor away from enemy lines.
