One of the more prominent X-Men and part of the original lineup, Bobby’s sexuality was revealed in 2015 when Bobby traveled back in time to talk to his younger self (who told him it was okay to be himself.)

Bobby had a tumultuous childhood which would eventually lead to his exile in his own hometown. He had been dating fellow high-schooler Judy, when a bully by the name of Rocky attacked them. Scared and panicked, he encased Rocky in ice, which revealed his powers to the public. His own neighbors organized an angry mob to kill him, believing him to be too dangerous.

But luckily, the local sheriff arrested Bobby to protect him, saving his life. Eventually, news of what had happened would reach Professor Charles Xavier, and he would end up taking Bobby in to his School for Gifted Children to help him hone his abilities.
