While comic book creators are more often than not the focus of comics, there is another very important aspect to it: the artists. And there are LGBT artists out there by the (insert high number here.) Colleen Coover is one of those important artists, and although she may not have been a writer of canonically queer characters, she has been the artist of queer-coded characters in the titular X-Men: First Class (should we mention Eric and Charles since queer coding was mentioned?)

Aside from her superhero art, Coover is also an artist of a lesbian erotica comic called Small Favors (although bisexual herself, a woman loving woman story is still prevalent and very important!)
